Birmingham headquartered enterprise communications and IT specialist, Intercity Technology, has appointed former BAE Systems operations director, Charlie Blakemore, to assist in driving and delivering on the company’s ambitious growth strategy.

During his 34 years in the engineering and aerospace industry, Charlie has gained significant experience in leading operations and project management across changing environments as well as exploiting technology to deliver improved business performance.

Prior to his appointment, Charlie worked closely with the board as non-executive director for two and a half years, advising and contributing to the development of Intercity’s growth strategy.

Now chief operating officer, Charlie will be working to streamline and enhance the delivery of projects to both enterprise and SME customers, ensuring that Intercity’s first-class service is provided as efficiently as possible. Charlie will also be working closely with the HR department to optimise the recruitment and retention processes as the business grows.
