Intercity has diversified its offering over the last three years following the acquisitions of cloud communications specialist Gage Networks and managed services provider Imerja, enabling it to offer a full suite of secure communications and innovative IT solutions to its growing customer base. The company has also developed its own patented unified communications platform, Touch Technology, and has multiple innovations in the pipeline.

With the Netherlands operations not fully aligned with the company’s long-term strategy, Intercity concluded that this side of the business would be more likely to succeed under new ownership. The sale of the Amsterdam office, which operated as a separate entity, will also allow Intercity to concentrate on expanding the business across the UK from its headquarters in Birmingham and offices in Bolton, Elstree and Oakham.

Alan Jackson, Chairman at Intercity Technology said:

“After 24 successful years in the Netherlands and an in-depth review of the company we decided to pass on the business in order for both entities to grow and reach their full potential.

We’d like to thank all of our colleagues, customers, partners and associates for their business and support over the years and wish them all the best for the future. I have no doubt that Simon will continue to drive the business forward.”

Simon Wort, CEO of the Netherlands operations added:

“This acquisition marks a turning point in the journey for both companies. It is a strategic and well-thought-out decision and one which will facilitate growth in order to propel both Intercity Netherlands and the Within Reach Group BV to the next level.”
